The quick answer
Fulidhoo is tiny. Every guesthouse is a few minutes' walk from the jetty and the bikini beach, so you don't need to stress about "location" the way you would on Maafushi. What actually separates the places here is pretty simple: does it have its own restaurant, do you want a sea view, and do you need a family room.
Prices are friendly. HolidayVibe's 2026 comparison has low-season rooms starting around US$62 a night with breakfast, and most of the island sitting between US$65 and US$100 before tax. There are no resorts, no overwater villas and no alcohol. If that's fine with you, you'll probably love it.

What actually matters when you choose
- A restaurant on site. This is the big one. Only around eight places have their own kitchen for lunch and dinner. The rest do breakfast, and you eat at the island's few cafés for everything else. That's fine for a couple of nights, a bit samey for a week.
- Sea view or village room. Only a handful of places have rooms facing the water. Village rooms are cheaper and you're still steps from the sand.
- Family rooms. Lots of the smaller places are couples-only room types. If you've got kids, filter for this first.
- Who runs the trips. Fulidhoo is a snorkelling and diving island. A guesthouse with a good excursion setup, or a dive centre close by, makes a bigger difference than thread count.
- Construction nearby. HolidayVibe flags that Fulidhoo is growing fast and building work is common. Worth asking about when you book.

With their own restaurant
Atoll Retreat, Galaxy Sunrise Sea View, Kinan Boutique, Kinan Sentral, Luau Beach Inn, Madi Grand, Manta Ray and Pearl Seaview. If you're staying more than three nights, we'd lean towards one of these, or at least book half board.
Sea-view rooms
Galaxy Sunrise Sea View, Pearl Seaview and Thundi Sea View.
Most hotel-like
Kinan Boutique and Kinan Sentral (both with restaurants, starting around US$100–105). Kinan Sentral is the group's newer, bigger building. Luau Beach Inn also runs more like a small hotel and has an in-house dive centre, according to Top 10 Maldives.
Pool
Madi Grand is the only Fulidhoo property listed with a pool. If a pool is a must, confirm it directly.

What a room really costs
The advertised price often isn't the full price. Here's what a US$70 room for two looks like once the usual extras land, using MIRA's rates:
| Line | Per night |
|---|---|
| Room | US$70.00 |
| Service charge (10%) | US$7.00 |
| TGST (17% of room + service) | US$13.09 |
| Green Tax (US$6 × 2) | US$12.00 |
| Total | US$102.09 |
Some places include all of this, some include none of it. Just ask. Our Maldives taxes explainer walks through it properly.
Getting there
You've got two real options from Malé:
- MTCC public ferry, Route 306 (cheapest). Leaves Malé at 10:00 on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, stops at Maafushi around 11:30, and gets to Fulidhoo around 13:20. Coming back, it leaves Fulidhoo at 10:30 on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. No Friday service. A few dollars, paid in rufiyaa.
- Shared speedboat (fastest). About 1 hour 10 minutes. Recent guides put it at roughly US$40 to US$80 per person each way. Your guesthouse books it.
Full stop-by-stop times are on our public ferry timetable. Because the ferry calls at Maafushi, you can do a couple of nights there first and then hop to Fulidhoo for a few dollars. Our cheapest way to Maafushi guide covers the first leg.
Before you book
- Ask whether the quoted price includes TGST, service charge and Green Tax.
- Ask about meal plans if the place has no restaurant. Half board can save a lot of wandering around at dinner time.
- Bring some US dollars in cash. HolidayVibe reports there's now a Bank of Maldives ATM, but one machine on a small island is one machine.
- Pack light, soft bags. The streets are sand.
- Fulidhoo is a local island: no alcohol, and swimwear only on the bikini beach. Our local island rules explain the rest.
